The Warsaw Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion traditionally organizes the international summer school of plasma physics and nuclear fusion, Kudowa Summer School “Towards Fusion Energy”, every two years. In addition to invited lectures by not only European specialists, this summer school also includes presentations of student projects, with the best ones being awarded. This year, amidst strong competition mainly from doctoral students from Poland, England, France, Italy, Germany, and other countries, our Applied Physics doctoral student, Ing. Jan Novotný, succeeded with his presentation “Gaseous hybrid X-pinch on a small dense plasma focus device,” for which he received 3rd place.
